A NETA Accredited Company is an independent third-party firm that NETA accredits to provide testing, analysis and maintenance of electrical power systems. [1] Accreditation applies to the firm, while NETA certifies the firm's individual technicians separately. [1] [2]

Issuing body

Accreditation is granted by NETA, the InterNational Electrical Testing Association, which also develops consensus standards and certifies technicians. [3] [4] A firm seeks accreditation through an application that the association reviews. [5]

Requirements

NETA expects an accredited company to be free of competing service or manufacturing interests, so that its test results remain unbiased. [6] The firm maintains a safety program that it reviews and updates on a regular basis. [7] NETA describes an accredited company as employing a team of certified technicians, who hold certification at one of the three highest levels (Certified Assistant Technician, Certified Technician or Certified Senior Technician), together with support personnel. Maintenance of status

NETA's accreditation overview describes accreditation as earned through an application and does not describe a renewal, audit or re-evaluation cycle for it. [12] The certification of its technicians carries continuing education, training and experience requirements set out in the 2026 edition of ANSI/NETA ETT. [13] [14]
