ANSI/NETA ATS-2025 is the 2025 edition of the acceptance testing standard of the InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA). [1] [2] The NETA shop lists it under the title ANSI/NETA ATS-2025 Standard for Acceptance Testing Specifications. [3] The standard sets out the field tests and inspections used to judge whether newly installed electrical power equipment and systems are ready to be energized for the first time. [4]

Scope

According to the publisher's product description, the standard addresses field tests and inspections that establish whether electrical power equipment and systems are operational, within applicable tolerances and installed as designed before initial energization. [4] It belongs to a family of NETA standards in which ANSI/NETA MTS-2023 covers maintenance testing of equipment in service and ANSI/NETA ECS-2024 covers electrical commissioning. [5] [6] [7]

Edition history

NETA published its first testing specification document in 1973, a year after the association was founded, and it became an American National Standards developer in 1996. [8] [2] [9]

The NETA standards development page lists the 2025 edition as the current edition of ANSI/NETA ATS. [10]

Related tests

Field tests that the standard addresses include insulation resistance and the polarization index and dielectric absorption test on the insulation side, contact resistance on the current path, insulation power factor and dissipation factor, dielectric withstand, and dissolved gas analysis of transformer liquid.
